You're reading issue #33 of The Slice. If you missed last weeks issue, check it out here.
For some reason I couldn't get this weeks gif to work, so I found some really cool art!
We're in February and yesterday The Slice surpassed 1300 humans!!
It's safe to say now that I seem to have found my footing within the newsletter space and I've come to know what works and what doesn't work. Here's what worked for me.
Cross promoting - This by far has given me the most consistent growth. It's pretty simple. Shout out for a shout out. Find a newsletter that's similar in size and in interest. Drop a DM or email the creator and bobs your uncle. In fact I'm always looking for new newsletters to collab with. My DMs are always open!
Twitter - I still surprisingly get a decent amount of traffic from Twitter, as well as subscribers, mostly because I'm active on there. Twitter opens up a whole new can of worms though, but for building an audience, it's great.
Blogging - This is really underrated but really does work. I use this really minimalist blogging platform called Bear that basically does everything I want it to.
Why am I talking about this?
I'm of the opinion that if you want to grow anything online you need to have 3-4 decent sources of traffic, add the fly wheel principle to it via content creation or paid ads and you can slowly but surly start building momentum with anything online. |

I love these self-improvement sketches, these make things so much easier to understand and it seems like you guys enjoy them as well. I'm a bit of an air head, so having something explained to me visually just makes life easier.
If you have any other sketch ideas, let me know, and I'll feature you and your sketch!

This is a really cool read. I remember I featured this product in issue 10 a while back, so its great to see where it is now and very inspiring. Might even motivate a few other people to create their own micro-SaaS. Read more Elon Musk broke the internet (again) with his Clubhouse interview. Okay this is actually an "interesting watch" and not an interesting read as its actually a YouTube video, but it definitely belongs here 😂
It seems that every time Elon opens his mouth, the internet breaks. In this case he broke the clubhouse app in this amazing interview. Watch here
